Actually it’s a long way anywhere when you choose that path, but it’s the only road Danny Doon wants to be on.
That said, despite all that time honing his craft in front of live audiences of all shapes, sizes and circumstances, Danny’s enthusiasm for music and playing for people remains his ultimate objective. There’s no other way to put it...... he’s addicted to the life and that means what you get every time he plays is a genuine, heart felt performance.
No matter if the gig’s a market spot early on a Sunday morning; a private party in a backyard; opening for a touring act in a big-capacity club or smashing out the tunes you know and love at your local pub. There’s actually no gig Danny can’t do.
So Why’s That?
Because he’s a man who changes with the times. From the heady days of the pub rock boom to today's scene, Danny’s that rare kind of performer who isn’t stuck in time but rather puts his love of music ahead of everything.
Danny is a one man power house vocalist and guitarist being described as having the tonal quality of Phil Collins and rasp of Joe Cocker.
Danny has been playing live venues his whole adult life and covering many venues along Eastern Australia. He now calls the Gold Coast home and it seems that this has been a great move, gigging more than ever around South East Queensland.
As well as playing in covers bands Danny also spent 10 years of fronting an Aus Rock Tribute band which displayed his passion for Australian Rock and that has now carried on to the present. He also played Guitar with the Newly Diamond Show and was Sound Tech for a Touring Theatre Company.
So what can you expect from a Danny Doon Solo show? FM styled acoustic covers and Aussie Rock of cause with a twist of Doon arrangements making them his versions of popular covers. Its been said before that he takes the song and makes it his without you even knowing it while keeping the intention of the song.
